Welcome to the Bicycle/Pedestrian Safety Diversion Program

Improving the safety of bicyclists and pedestrians in Pima County is a community priority

Working with Tucson City and Pima County Consolidated Court

Tucson City Court and the Pima County Consolidated Courts as well as other courts in Pima County may allow individuals to attend our three-hour bicycle/pedestrian safety course once a year for a bicycle/pedestrian violation dismissal.

This program does not apply to the operators of motorized vehicles.

The court into which you were cited may dismiss a bicyclist's or pedestrian's civil traffic violation if he or she submits proof of completion of attendance the EZ AZ Bicycle/Pedestrian Safety course. Please note: A bicyclist or Pedestrian who has had his or her citation dismissed through this program is not eligible for another dismissal for one year. The process may vary by court so please contact your court or our office to ensure you follow the correct process for your court.

Cost: $39.00

Pay at class by money order or certified check.


The Process is EASY

Tucson City Court:

Take your citation to the court's public service counter where a representative of the court will review your citation and violation to ensure it meets program requirements. The court may grant you a court date Extension so you will have sufficient time to register and attend a class. You will receive a receipt for your payment and a completion certificate upon class completion. Then return to the court's public service counter with your proof of completion documents.

Pima County Consolidated Court

Call the court 520-724-3171 for an "Extension" so you will have sufficient to complete the class.

The court may grant you a court date Extension so you will have sufficient time to register and attend a class. You will receive a receipt for your payment and a completion certificate upon class completion. Go to court with you proof of completion documents.
